“Ukraine talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not take place. Putin did not accept the proposal to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This means that the Ukraine talks between Trump and Putin did not occur.” Political expert Mohammad Asadullazade said this in an interview with Medianews.az.
He stated that Russia even declared again that Zelensky is not a legitimate head of state: “Thus, a meeting between Putin and Zelensky does not seem possible. Yesterday, Trump emphasized that Ukraine can only succeed not by defense but by offense. This means Trump is aware that Putin is manipulating. From now on, negotiations with Russia do not appear possible. After the US Congress starts work in September, new sanctions against Russia may be imposed. Also, providing Ukraine with offensive weapons is not excluded.
The meeting in Alaska and the subsequent meetings with European leaders revealed that diplomatic talks in the Ukraine war are futile. Russia’s position is that it will approach matters only in the context of its own interests and will not consider Ukraine’s interests. Moscow is against the deployment of Western peacekeeping forces to Ukraine.”
According to M. Asadullazade, it is expected that Trump and European countries will provide Ukraine with new offensive weapons and that Ukraine will strike serious blows to Russia with those weapons.
