Trump's lawsuit rejected

The district court of the state of Florida has dismissed the $10 billion defamation and dignity protection claim filed by U.S. President Donald Trump against the publication "The Wall Street Journal."

Medianews.az, citing "Qafqazinfo," reports that the publication has shared this information on its website.

It was stated that the claim pertains to an article published in "The Wall Street Journal" in July 2025. The article allegedly discussed a letter that Trump purportedly gifted to the controversial American financier Jeffrey Epstein. The article also noted that Trump denied sending the letter to Epstein and threatened the publication with legal action.

Based on the court decision accepted by Judge Darrin Gayles, the president's lawyers failed to prove the fact of defamation. The judge stated that during the preparation of the article, journalists sought comments from Trump himself, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The court regarded this as an attempt to conduct an investigation.

Nevertheless, the head of state has the right to specify his claim and reapply to the court by April 27.

It should be noted that in September 2025, members of the U.S. House of Representatives from the Democratic Party published a photo of this letter. The letter, featuring the silhouette of a naked woman’s body, depicts a dialogue between "Jeffrey" and "Donald."
