The US administration is trying to sign a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine by July 4.
Medianews.az reports that this was written by the American “Bloomberg” agency citing officials from the European Union and NATO.
The agency's sources also noted that so far there is no evidence indicating that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for a real agreement.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a media statement that US President Donald Trump wants Kyiv to sign a separate agreement both on a peace treaty with Russia and on security guarantees with the US and European countries.
According to Zelensky, Trump desires these documents to be signed at the same time and within the framework of as broad a ceremony as possible.
July 4 is Independence Day in the US. On July 4, 2026, the US will celebrate the 250th anniversary of its independence.
