US President Donald Trump has announced that he supports Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the parliamentary elections to be held in June.
Medianews.az reports that Trump called Pashinyan on his Truth Social account "a beautiful friend and leader who makes his country strong, flourishing, and much safer": "Nikol fully shares my vision for peace and prosperity in Armenia and throughout the South Caucasus."
Trump noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously visited Armenia "to make progress on several important agreements for both countries." The American leader added that the US and Armenia will soon begin implementing the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project. In his opinion, this will "change the South Caucasus" and help American energy companies gain "access to the region's resources": "In this regard, I fully and unequivocally support Nikol's re-election on June 7, 2026."
It should be noted that the parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7. Russia has mobilized all its levers against Pashinyan ahead of the elections.//Musavat.com
