The US-owned "MQ1" unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) violated the airspace over Iran's territorial waters. Air defense (AD) forces shot down the vehicle.
This was reported in a statement issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH - the elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces).
"Early in the morning today, the US military's 'MQ1' drone entered Iran's territorial waters to carry out a hostile operation. It was immediately detected by SEPAH's advanced air defense systems and hit with a missile strike," the statement said.
SEPAH stated that the airspace over Iran's territorial waters is under full control and any violation will be met with a decisive response./oxu.az
