Hasan Huseynov, who served as the director of Sabirabad District Central Hospital under the Ministry of Health until four months ago, has been held criminally responsible.
According to information obtained by Medianews.az citing “Qafqazinfo”, the ex-director is accused of embezzling a large sum of money.
Investigations conducted by the prosecution have revealed that the director abused his official powers and embezzled slightly more than 186 thousand manats of state funds.
H. Huseynov has not been arrested; a non-custodial measure of "not leaving the place" has been chosen against him until the start of the trial. He has repaid 20 thousand manats of the damage caused, and arrangements have been made for him to pay the remaining amount.
If the damage is not compensated, H. Huseynov faces 5 to 10 years of imprisonment under the charge of embezzling a large amount. The trial will begin in the near future.
It should be noted that Hasan Huseynov is reported to be the brother-in-law of General-Colonel Sefer Mehdiyev, the former chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC). Last year, he also came under scrutiny for allegedly beating one of the female employees at the hospital.
