Alexey Korshenko, former director of the business aviation terminal at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, has died.
Medianews.az reports that Russian media say the body of 57-year-old Korshenko was found hanging on the balcony of his apartment on Flotskaya Street in Moscow on June 6, and that the investigation is being conducted under the suicide hypothesis.
According to information, Alexey Korshenko was unexpectedly dismissed from work about three weeks before his death.
The business aviation terminal at Sheremetyevo began operating in 2011. Alexey Korshenko was one of the founders of this terminal.
Some sources opposing the Russian authorities hint at the possibility that Korshenko was murdered. The claim suggests that this death may be connected to the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Russian billionaire and owner of the "Wagner" mercenary military group Yevgeny Prigozhin launched an armed revolt in June 2023, as a result of which on the 23rd-24th of the month "Wagner" fighters took control of the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov, demanding the resignation of then Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and advancing toward Moscow. Along the way, the mercenaries shot down Russian military planes and helicopters. The rebellion was halted through the mediation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and two months later Prigozhin's plane crashed.
Some Russian sources claim that the technical service for Prigozhin's crashed plane was provided at the business aviation terminal of Sheremetyevo Airport. For this reason, Alexey Korshenko is considered one of the persons knowledgeable about the last flight of Prigozhin's plane.
The plane crashed in Tver region after taking off on August 23, 2023. All persons on board, including Yevgeny Prigozhin and the commander of "Wagner," were killed.
