Due to the war and sanctions, Alina Kabayeva, who is called Russia's unofficial first lady, has changed some of her habits but still earns significant income from propaganda media resources.
Musavat.com reports citing foreign agencies that this information was shared by independent Russian journalists.
According to the news, Kabayeva, known as the unofficial first lady, continues to increase her income: in 2025, she earned 520 million rubles (approximately 6 million 205 thousand dollars) from the "National Media Group" (NMG), which she heads. This figure is higher than the 450 million rubles in 2024 and 375 million rubles in 2023. Thus, in three years Kabayeva has earned over 1.3 billion rubles (15 million 513 thousand dollars). These data are based on documents obtained from a source at the Russian Federal Tax Service.
Kabayeva is rapidly increasing her amassed funds. The former gymnast keeps her assets in the "Rossiya" shareholder bank – a bank known as "Putin's friends' bank." As of January 2025, Kabayeva's deposits in this bank amounted to 1.6 billion rubles (19 million dollars). The money is placed at a 21% annual interest rate. This means Kabayeva will earn 325 million rubles (3 million 818 thousand dollars) annually from interest alone.

According to the information provided, Kabayeva mostly spends her money on luxurious clothing. When appearing in public, she wears, for example, suits from the American brand Proenza Schouler: the trousers cost 1.2 thousand euros, and the jacket costs 2 thousand euros. For attending her students' training sessions, she comes wearing Italian Brunello Cucinelli brand sports shoes worth 2 thousand dollars. Among Russian brands, Kabayeva favors Ulyana Sergeenko: recently, she was seen with a 250 thousand ruble bag from the fashion house owned by Igor Sechin's ex-lover.
Sanctions have seriously affected Kabayeva's favorite hobby – traveling. Before the war, she often flew to European countries, renting business jets (such as Challenger and Cessna). The price for such flights sometimes reached 2 million rubles. Kabayeva frequently traveled to Milan, Munich, and Lugano. It is said that she gave birth to her first son in Lugano. But now her travels are limited only to the CIS and Asian countries.
