The captain of the Portugal national football team, Cristiano Ronaldo, gifted the country’s President António José Seguro a national team jersey featuring the politician’s surname and the number 2026.
This information was released by the national team’s press service.
Before departing for the World Cup, the head of state received the football players and the coaching staff of the team. During the meeting, Ronaldo took the Portuguese flag from Seguro’s hand.
The Football World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. For the first time, 48 teams will participate in the tournament. The Portugal national team will compete in the same group as the DR Congo, Colombia, and Uzbekistan teams./oxu.az
