The leadership of Istanbul city in Turkey has started using drones to monitor the activities of taxi drivers.
Medianews.az reports that this was stated to "RIA Novosti" by Güngör Petek, a member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers Chamber.
According to him, drones are being deployed in districts where most complaints are received.
The need to strengthen supervision arose after another noisy scandal. At the beginning of June, a taxi driver from Istanbul deceived a foreign blogger and withdrew more than 160 dollars, which is 20 times the fare from his card. The driver was arrested, and the Istanbul Taxi Drivers Chamber revoked his license issued for operating as a taxi driver.
"We regularly conduct such sudden inspections; now, we also use drones to more efficiently monitor vehicles with license plates involved in violations," Petek said.//olke.az
