Gastroenterologist explained the autumn fruit beneficial for the heart

The product contains unique beneficial elements. Foodinfo.az reports that gastroenterologist and "Medicina" JSC doctor Yevgeniy Belousov, speaking to "Gazeta.Ru," stated that the discussion is about persimmon.

According to the expert, persimmon is rich in potassium and magnesium — minerals that are important for normal heart and muscle function. 100 grams of persimmon contains about 180 mg of potassium, which regulates the water-salt balance in the body.

"Additionally, persimmon contains many antioxidants — tannins, catechins, anthocyanins, especially in astringent persimmon varieties. These substances have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and potentially anticancer effects. They are significant in supporting cardiovascular system health," Belousov explained.

Persimmon is also a source of vitamins A, C, B group vitamins, and a large amount of fiber. Fiber helps regulate cholesterol levels.

The doctor emphasizes that to gain maximum benefit, it is important to consume persimmon wisely. The recommended portion for adults is 1-2 fruits per day, preferably consumed together with balanced food, such as cheese or nuts.
