"Qarabağ" team, which defeated "Benfica" 3:2 in the first round of the main stage of the UEFA Champions League in Portugal, has returned to the homeland.
The team was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by representatives of the Agdam delegation, fans, and media members.
"Qarabağ," which started the game unconfidently, fell behind by 2 goals due to goals conceded in the 6th and 16th minutes. Nevertheless, not losing spirit, the Azerbaijani champion reduced the difference with a goal by Leandro Andrade in the 30th minute. The first half ended with the opponent leading 2:1. Agdam players had an excellent start to the second half and restored the balance with an accurate strike from their new transfer, Camilo Duran. The final point in the match was scored in the 86th minute by Aleksey Kashuk. Thus, "Qarabağ" secured its first victory in the main stage of the Champions League.
It should be noted that "Qarabağ" will play its next League stage match against Denmark's "Copenhagen" team in Baku on October 1.
