Putin's thunderous statements... - Does Russia have that power?

The talks between the special representative of the US President Donald Trump, Steven Witkoff, and the American businessman Jared Kushner with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the Ukraine war have ended as expected.

Some political analysts and political writers interpret this meeting using all the terms of political science. However, there is no reason to be pessimistic and claim that Ukraine will be defeated.

The fate of this war will be decided not by diplomacy, but by power. That power no longer exists in Russia.

The thunderous statements recently voiced by Putin, emboldened by Trump’s support, are not based on power. More than one million casualties in battles with the Ukrainian Army, the economy’s descent into a dire state, the severe sanctions imposed, and other problems unknown to us indicate that Russia is in a very difficult position.

In return for all this, Putin’s thunderous statements are far from reality.

Today, Ukrainians are fighting heroically under very harsh conditions and declare that they will not abandon their land. That heroic people is fighting for Europe, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus.

In my opinion, the world is aware of this. From this perspective, we would like to believe that the European Union and the United Kingdom, which have sufficient resources, will not withhold their support for Ukraine in all fields for the sake of their future and security.

On the other hand, it is not convincing that Donald Trump will sacrifice Ukraine to Russia for his own economic and strategic interests. Because American society, the Democratic Party, and even many members of the Republican Party show strong reactions to Trump’s policy.

In conclusion, I would say that only a just peace will bring stability to Ukraine and the region as a whole. Any peace agreement signed with thunderous statements and multi-configurational cunning moves will not resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
