France national team forward Kylian Mbappe has become the first footballer to score at least three goals in the knockout stages of three different World Cups.

Mbappe scored a penalty in the 70th minute of the Round of 16 match of 2026 World Cup against the Paraguay team (1:0).
This goal was his 7th in the current World Cup and his 3rd in the knockout stages of the current tournament. Previously, he had scored two goals against the Sweden national team in the Round of 16 (3:0).
