Erve Renar head coach resigned from the position

French specialist Hervé Renard has announced his resignation from the position of head coach of the Tunisian national football team.

Medianews.az reports referring to oxu.az that he shared this information on his "Instagram" account.

Hervé Renard was appointed head coach of the Tunisian national team after the first round of the World Cup group stage - on June 16. At that time, the Tunisian team had lost 1-5 to Sweden in the first match. Under his leadership, the team lost to Japan 0-4 and to the Netherlands 1-3, and did not pass the group stage.

"I sincerely thank the Tunisian Football Federation for providing the opportunity to participate in the 2026 World Cup. My adventure here comes to an end," Renard wrote.

The 57-year-old specialist had previously also left his position as head coach of the Saudi Arabian national team before the World Cup began.

During his coaching career, Hervé Renard has coached the national teams of Morocco, Ivory Coast, Angola, and Zambia. He succeeded in leading the Ivory Coast and Zambia teams to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
