Tehran is considering the implementation of new rules for navigation in the Hormuz Strait, and special conditions may be established for friendly countries.
AFP reports that Iran's ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, stated this in his speech at the World Peace Forum held in Beijing.
The ambassador noted that Iran, together with Oman, is preparing a new system for regulating transit along the strategic maritime corridor: "The new mechanisms will cover issues related to navigation safety, control over ship passage, and environmental standards. Alongside this, a special approach will be applied to countries that supported Iran during difficult times. We will take into account a special approach to countries that showed friendly relations and support during challenging periods."
