Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that his country is ready to stop the tension and war in the region under certain conditions.
Medianews.az reports that he stated this during a phone conversation with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
According to information disseminated by the Iranian media, Pezeshkian emphasized during the dialogue, "We have the will to end this war provided the necessary conditions are met, especially with guarantees that the aggression will not be repeated."
He noted that the existing conflict in the Middle East is the result of the "hostile and aggressive actions" of the United States and Israel.
President Pezeshkian accused the European Union of biased approach and stated that the US-Israel attacks flagrantly violate the principles of the rule of law that Europe claims to defend.
He warned that any foreign intervention in the region would lead to dangerous consequences and called on European countries to "adjust" their policies towards Iran.
Touching upon diplomatic processes, the Iranian leader said that official Tehran entered negotiations with the United States "in good faith," but was attacked again during the process. According to him, this incident proves that Washington is not committed to genuine diplomacy.
In turn, Antonio Costa highlighted that European countries do not support the US and Israeli attacks on Iran. In a post on platform "X," he called on the parties to reduce tensions and exercise restraint, noting that given the broad security challenges created by Iran, an absolute opportunity must be created for diplomacy.//Musavat.com
