Information was received by the police about a person in Baku whose large amount of money was obtained through fraud.
According to Medianews.az citing Milli.Az, as a result of measures taken by the employees of the Water Transport Police Department, 36-year-old Rufat Qasimzade and 37-year-old Mammad Mammadzade, who are considered guilty in the act, have been detained.
Investigations determined that R. Qasimzade, in order to seize another's property, colluded in advance with his acquaintance M. Mammadzade to engage in criminal cooperation. He gained the victim's trust by claiming to have extensive connections and to be involved in the sale of gold jewelry. Later, the detained individuals took a total of 317,500 manat at different times from the victim under the pretense of dealing with the sale of gold jewelry and divided the amount among themselves. As a result, they committed fraud causing significant damage to the victim.

In his statement, the victim said that he last gave a portion of the money to these persons near the Baku Sea Station area. For this reason, investigative procedures regarding the case were carried out in the Water Transport Police Department.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated against R. Qasimzade and M. Mammadzade under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud causing significant damage), and both persons were involved in the investigation as accused.
Investigations continue.
It should be noted that R. Qasimzade presented himself as the son-in-law of the late People's Artist Ramiz Azizbeyli.
