The number of women in Azerbaijan who have taken their husband's surname and thus carry a double surname due to marriage in the last 3 years has been announced.
Medianews.az , referring to "Yeni Sabah," reports that this information was provided by the Ministry of Justice.
It was noted that in the years 2024-2026, applications regarding surname choice by both men and women were recorded.
Specifically, in 2024, 802 women, in 2025, 1052 women, and in the first three months of 2026, 174 women combined their surname with their husband's surname upon marriage.
It was also added that in 2024, 62 men, in 2025, 52 men, and in the first 3 months of 2026, 6 men accepted their wife's surname upon marriage.
