PUA attack on Moscow: Oil refinery hit, flights at airports suspended - VIDEO

The capital of Russia, Moscow, was subjected to a mass drone (UAV) attack during the night hours.

Medianews.az reports that as a result of the attack, the Moscow Oil Refinery was hit, the roof of one of the buildings in the facility was destroyed after a strong explosion, and a fire broke out in the area.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that air defense systems destroyed about 180 UAVs headed toward the capital. According to him, some drones bypassed air defenses and struck the oil refinery, causing infrastructure damage.

Footage circulating on social media shows the roof of the building blown into the air after the explosion, with thick smoke rising from the area. Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing.

Due to the attack, landings and takeoffs have been temporarily restricted at Moscow’s Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky airports.

It should be noted that the Moscow Oil Refinery was also subjected to a UAV attack on June 16. The recent incident indicates that the energy infrastructure of Russia’s capital is being targeted again.
