The state language of Moldova modified

Moldovan President Maia Sandu stated on her Facebook page that she has approved the parliament's decision to change the name of the state language in the country from Moldovan to Romanian.

Medianews.az reports that Maia Sandu said the Romanian language can and should be a catalyst for the consolidation of society.

"Today, I signed the law that confirms a historic and undeniable truth: the state language of Moldova is Romanian," the head of state emphasized.

Sandu expressed her confidence that this decision will contribute to the unification of Moldovan society. She added that some people have long emphasized that the residents of Moldova speak Moldovan, not Romanian, in order to divide Moldovan society.
