A 3,000-year-old secret room was discovered in Egypt: Findings revealed the secret

A hidden chamber created thousands of years ago has been discovered in the Theban Necropolis Qurna area in Luxor, Egypt during archaeological excavations.

Medianews.az reports that 22 colorful sarcophagi belonging to Ancient Egypt and approximately 2,500-year-old 8 rare papyri were found in the room.

Researchers state that the arrangement of the sarcophagi was not accidental but planned. It is notable that most of the mummies inside the sarcophagi remain intact. Many sarcophagi bear the title “Readers of Amun,” indicating that women played an active role in religious ceremonies.

Rare papyrus documents stored in ceramic vessels were also found. Their restoration and translation may take months.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology considers the discovery one of the most significant archaeological finds in recent years. Experts say these findings could provide a new perspective on the religious and social role of women in Ancient Egypt.
