The Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads has issued a statement regarding the collapsed road in Masazir.
According to Medianews.az, the statement said that the collapse incident was recorded on the road branching off from the Khirdalan–Masazir–Novkhani highway, leading to the settlement where refugees and internally displaced persons from the Zangilan district have settled.
“As soon as the incident was recorded, the Agency’s employees were immediately involved in the area, additional safety measures were taken, and traffic was ensured to be safely organized.
Based on the initial investigations conducted, the collapse was caused by water washing away the roadbed as a result of an accident in the sewage collector.
Regarding the incident, the relevant authority was immediately informed to take operational measures and eliminate the problem.
Currently, the relevant authority is taking appropriate steps to fully stabilize the situation on site and eliminate the accident,” the statement noted.
