He was a member of the Socialist Party between 2006-2009. He worked in the banking sector, held the positions of deputy secretary general to the President of France, minister of economy, industry, and digital technology.
In 2016, he founded the "En Marche" movement, which later turned into the En Marche, Republic Party, and in 2022 it was renamed Renaissance Party.
He was elected president on May 7, 2017, and April 24, 2022.
