Macron's prime ministers

During Emmanuel Macron's presidency, 7 people have been appointed prime minister in France.

Medianews.az reports that Emmanuel Macron was born on December 21, 1977, in the city of Amiens. He graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies and the National School of Administration. He was a member of the Socialist Party between 2006-2009. He worked in the banking sector, held the positions of deputy secretary general to the President of France, minister of economy, industry, and digital technology.

In 2016, he founded the "En Marche" movement, which later turned into the En Marche, Republic Party, and in 2022 it was renamed Renaissance Party.

He was elected president on May 7, 2017, and April 24, 2022.

In France, the government is formed based on both the results of the presidential election and the election to the National Assembly, which is the lower house of parliament.

Since 2017, Édouard Philippe, from 2020 Jean Castex, from 2022 Élisabeth Borne, and from 2024 Gabriel Attal have served as prime ministers.

After the Renaissance Party and its allies formed a minority government following the National Assembly election held in summer 2024, first Michel Barnier, then François Bayrou served as prime minister, both of whom fell victim to votes of no confidence in the National Assembly.

Sébastien Lecornu, who became prime minister on September 9, 2025, resigned on October 6 without forming a government.
