French leader Emmanuel Macron may leave politics after his presidential term ends.
Medianews.az reports that the head of state stated this during a meeting with schoolchildren in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia.
"I had not been involved in politics before, and I will not be involved after," Macron said.
The local press believes that this statement clearly indicates his intention not to continue political activity after his presidential term ends.
When one of the students asked him when he decided to become president, Macron responded: "I have always been interested in the life of my country, but to do this it is not necessarily required to be president."
