Turkish singer Mabel Matiz (Fatih Karaca) faces a criminal case in which the prosecutor has demanded a prison sentence ranging from 6 months to 3 years.
Medianews.az reports that the case being heard in Istanbul's 54th Criminal Court of First Instance is related to allegations that the lyrics of the song "Perperişan" contain content against morality and explicit erotic expressions.
According to the accusation, the work was published without any age restrictions, thus potentially posing a risk for children.
The artist's lawyers, who did not attend the court, requested additional time for defense. A representative of the Ministry of Family and Social Services stated that the song's lyrics constituted immoral sexual content and amounted to a criminal offense.
In the prosecutor's final opinion, it was requested that Karaca be sentenced to imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years under the charge of "facilitating the dissemination of materials against morality."
The court postponed the hearing, granting the parties time to prepare their defense.
