There is a tradition in Azerbaijan that budget supplements and amendments can be made in May-June. It is likely that a draft law on budget supplements and amendments will be submitted to the parliament at the end of May or the beginning of June.
Medianews.az reports that economist Natiq Jafarli said this in an explanation to Unikal. He stated that some social expenditures, salaries, and pensions might be planned to increase here.
"In previous discussions, there was a proposal to increase the minimum wage every year. This year, the minimum wage has not yet been increased. Therefore, there may be legislative proposals to increase the minimum wage and minimum pension. I think at least a 10-15% increase is expected."
It should be noted that in the 2026 state budget, the price of one barrel of oil is projected at 65 dollars. Currently, the price of one barrel of "Azeri Light" crude oil is being sold for more than 100 dollars.
