Lebanon President Joseph Aoun has proposed a one-month ceasefire to Israel, promising that during this period the disarmament of the "Hezbollah" movement will be achieved.
Medianews.az reports that this information was provided by the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat," citing diplomatic sources in Beirut.
The newspaper noted that the head of state conveyed the peace proposal to the Israeli side through the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Michael A. Issa. Aoun stated that a ceasefire is necessary for the Lebanese army to be able to complete the approved plan to disarm all illegal military groups. He emphasized that carrying out such an operation under military conditions is impossible.
According to the newspaper's information based on sources, Aoun claimed that the state's monopoly on weapons could not be accomplished in the context of increased Israeli actions on land, in the air, and at sea. //Oxu.Az
