The Ministry of Emergency Situations has made an appeal to the population regarding the expected unstable weather conditions.
Medianews.az reports that the ministry has once again reminded the relevant safety rules.
It was stated that according to the information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, in the coming days, intense rainfall is expected in some areas, short-term floods in some mountain rivers, lightning strikes, and occasionally strong winds:
"Thus, to protect against floods and inundations that may be caused by heavy rains, it is recommended to stay away from flood- and inundation-prone areas and to immediately move to nearby elevated places when faced with such danger.
Additionally, considering that people head to beaches for relaxation during the summer season, it is reminded that it is dangerous to enter the sea during windy weather. Also, even small vessel users should consider that going out to sea under such weather conditions is prohibited.
Furthermore, during strong winds, it is recommended to stay away from light structures and temporary buildings, building and advertising boards, and not to stand under electric poles and wires or tall trees.
Also, considering the difficulties that strong winds create in extinguishing fires, fire safety rules must be strictly followed especially during windy weather conditions.
At the same time, to protect against lightning-related dangers, it is necessary to disconnect electrical devices from the network, avoid talking on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.), not to approach electric lines, lightning conductors, masts, and antennas while outdoors, not to shelter under tall trees, and to choose comparatively low-lying places for shelter; if inside a vehicle, stop moving, roll up the windows, and wait for the lightning to cease.
Remember: Negligence of the rules is a danger to our lives!
Call 112 in case of emergency!"
