Iran: a new supreme leader has been elected

A new supreme leader has been elected in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Medianews.az reports that this statement was made by Ayatollah Ahmad Alam al-Hoda, a member of the Assembly of Experts, the body that elects the supreme leader in Iran.

However, the name of the elected person has not yet been announced.

Alam al-Hoda stated that the news circulating about the Assembly of Experts not having held the election or made a decision yet is a complete lie.

The religious figure said that the official announcement of the decision now depends on the Secretariat of the Assembly. The Secretariat is headed by Ayatollah Hossein Bushehri.

It is recalled that Iran’s second supreme leader Ali Khamenei was killed eight days ago during a US and Israel air strike.
