Rumors about Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan continue unabated. On November 26, rumors spread that he was killed in prison. Although officially denied, family members and supporters continue to issue statements expressing serious concern.
According to Medianews.az, on November 27, Imran Khan's son Qasim addressed the international community and human rights organizations regarding his father's condition.
Qasim Khan stated that his father has been held in custody for 845 days and in the last six weeks has been completely isolated in a solitary cell, subjected to an information blockade.
According to him, despite court decisions, Imran Khan's sisters are still not allowed to meet him in prison: "There are neither phone calls nor meetings. No real evidence has been presented that my father is alive. My brother and I also have no way to contact my father."
He noted that the family's inability to receive information about Imran Khan's health "cannot be explained by security protocols." The appeal described this situation as a "deliberately created information puzzle."
Qasim Khan called on the authorities to bear responsibility for his father's safety:
He urged the world public, international human rights organizations, and democratic institutions to immediately intervene in this situation.
Qasim Khan concluded his appeal with the words, "The life of Pakistan's most popular political leader is at risk."
Born in 1952, Imran Khan led the Pakistan government from 2018 to 2022. He has been imprisoned since the summer of 2023 and sentenced to 14 years in prison. A number of charges have been brought against him, the main accusation being related to corruption.
