Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, and many people start their day exactly with it. However, opinions on the health effects of this drink are sometimes contradictory. Although coffee is considered beneficial in some cases, excessive consumption can pose certain risks.
Medianews.az reports, referring to Foodinfo.az, that cardiologist Svetlana Kanevskaya has explained the safe daily coffee norm and emphasized the importance of its proper use.
According to the specialist, approximately 400 mg of caffeine per day is considered safe for a healthy adult. This amount corresponds on average to 3–4 cups of coffee. It is recommended to drink coffee mainly in the first half of the day because consuming it in the evening hours can negatively affect sleep quality. When used properly, coffee can also provide certain benefits to the body.
Studies show that caffeine can improve attention and memory functions. At the same time, positive effects on the cardiovascular system are observed in some cases. This indicates that coffee has not only harmful but also beneficial sides. However, these effects only manifest if the norm is followed.
The doctor notes that each person's body reacts differently to caffeine. In some people, even a small amount of coffee can cause increased heart rate or anxiety. Therefore, individual sensitivity should be taken into account, and coffee consumption should be regulated individually.
Overall, specialists say there is no need to completely give up coffee. The main point is to maintain balance and not exceed the daily norm. In this case, coffee remains a beverage that both gives pleasure and provides certain benefits.
