Going to bed late increases the risk of heart attack

A new study conducted by Harvard University has revealed that individuals who go to sleep late at night are at greater risk in terms of heart health.

According to Milli.Az, the results of the research show that people who sleep late have a 16 percent higher chance of having a heart attack compared to those who sleep early.

The study also found that people with the habit of sleeping late have an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Experts state that this situation is directly related to the disruption of the body's biological rhythm.

According to experts, there is an internal biological clock in the human body called the "circadian rhythm." Staying awake until late hours disrupts this rhythm, resulting in increased blood pressure, elevated levels of stress hormones, and greater strain on the heart and vascular system.

These factors increase the risk of heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases over a long period.

The scientists conducting the research emphasize that not only the duration of sleep but also the timing is very important. Going to sleep after midnight, even if sufficient hours are slept, can have a negative effect on heart health.
