The captain emphasized that before the match, he remembered the legendary squad that took third place in the 2002 World Cup and wanted them to be part of this success.
According to him, this call was addressed not only to former players but also to the coaches who played an important role in the history of the national team.
"I just wanted to share my feelings. Not only the players but also our coaches – Fatih Terim and Şenol Güneş. I want them to come and support us. Their experience is very important for us. I hope they will be among us," Çalhanoğlu stated.
