Russian oligarch, ally of Samvel Karapetyan, the head of the "Strong Armenia" party, and former military intelligence officer Artur Avanesyan has been arrested.
Medianews.az reports that his lawyer Aram Vardevanyan has provided this information.
The Armenian Court for Combating Corruption accepted the investigator's request and chose a detention measure for him for a period of two months.
The former intelligence officer was interrogated on April 26 at the Committee for Combating Corruption.
A criminal case has been opened against Artur Avanesyan and 9 other party members on charges of bribery related to the parliamentary elections to be held on June 7. /Telegraph
