The trial of Turalbey Mehdiyev, who is accused of treason against the state on the orders of foreign organizations and whose investigation is being conducted by the State Security Service (SSS), has begun.
According to Oxu.Az, at the preparatory session held at the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Firdovsi Aliyev, the defendant’s personal details were verified, and a decision was made to bring the criminal case to trial.
The next court hearing is scheduled for February 17.
It should be noted that Turalbey Mehdiyev has been formally charged under Articles 274 (treason), 281.3 (open calls against the state committed on the orders of foreign organizations and their representatives), and 283.1 (inciting national, racial, social, or religious hatred and hostility, committed openly, including through the use of media) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
