In Azerbaijan, "preferential pension" (that is, the right to retire by lowering the age limit) is granted to certain categories of individuals. This is mainly intended for those working in heavy, harmful, or special conditions, as well as socially vulnerable groups.
Since July 1, 2017, preferential age-based labor pensions have been assigned to men and women working in special fields of art, underground work, and jobs with especially harmful and heavy working conditions.
So, at what age is the pension assigned here?
After the amendment dated 01.07.2017 in the "Labor Pensions" Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the required age limit for men became 60, and for women, it became 55.
Those entitled to preferential pension:
1. Those working in heavy and harmful jobs
Underground work (mines, etc.)
Those working in harmful conditions in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, oil, and gas
The pension age for these persons is lower (usually by 5–10 years).
2. Special professional fields
Pilots and flight crews
Railway workers
Seafarers
Certain workers in the energy and industrial sectors
3. Military personnel and law enforcement officers
They can receive a pension regardless of age after completing a certain length of service.
4. Mothers with many children
Women with 5 or more children
They gain the right to retire at an earlier age.
5. Persons with disabilities or those with limited health capabilities
A pension can be assigned without age consideration when work capacity is lost.
6. War participants and persons with special status
Veterans and some special categories can obtain additional concessions.
Important conditions:
