This country plunged into darkness: Controversial statement from Trump amid the energy crisis

As a result of the deepening energy crisis amid US sanctions, the electricity grid in Cuba has collapsed, leaving millions without power.

Medianews.az reports that approximately 10 million people in the country are without electricity.

According to information, although the malfunction is related to problems in the energy system, one of the main reasons is fuel shortage and long-term economic difficulties. The restoration of electricity supply is being carried out gradually, but it is noted that the process will take time.

Oil restrictions imposed by the US have further worsened the crisis. As a result of the reduction in fuel supply, the country's old energy infrastructure has practically become paralyzed.

Against this background, statements by US President Donald Trump have drawn attention. He called Cuba a "weak state" and stated that he "can do whatever he wants" regarding the country and that the "honor of taking it over could belong to him."

Power outages and food shortages have caused protests in the country. During demonstrations in some regions, incidents of violence were recorded, and daily life was seriously disrupted.

Experts warn that the energy crisis is not limited to electricity alone but also seriously affects healthcare, transportation, and other sectors of the economy. The current situation further increases uncertainty about Cuba’s future.
