The distribution of mandates in Bulgaria has been clarified

The distribution of mandates in Bulgaria's newly elected parliament has been clarified.

Medianews.az reports that in the election held on April 19, the Progressive Bulgaria Party won 131 mandates out of the 240-member legislative body, gaining the right to form a government. The party is led by former president Rumen Radev. Rumen Radev, who was elected president in 2016 and 2021, resigned on January 19, 2026.

In the parliament elected by proportional representation (party lists), it is reported that the GERB Party and the Union of Democratic Forces won 39 mandates, the bloc consisting of the Continuation of Reforms Party and the Democratic Bulgaria Party won 37, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms won 21, and the Revival Party won 12 mandates.
