A fire was reported to the Ministry of Emergency Situations' "112" hotline at a multi-storey residential building located on T. Abbasov Street, Nizami district, Baku city.
According to the information provided by the Ministry to Medianews.az, fire protection and special risk rescue service forces of the State Fire Protection under the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately dispatched to the area regarding the incident.
Upon evaluating the operational situation at the scene, it was determined that the fire started in an apartment on the 15th floor of an eighteen-storey residential building and there was a possibility of the fire spreading to other apartments.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ forces, the fire was extinguished in a short time without allowing it to spread.
As a result of the fire, combustible structures of a three-room apartment with a total area of 71 sq.m. were burned over an area of 50 sq.m. One injured person was rescued by the rescuers and handed over to an emergency medical team, and eight residents of the building were evacuated. The remaining part of the apartment and the neighboring apartments were protected from the fire.
