A large-scale study involving 150,000 people showed a connection between a regular breakfast and the risk of oncological diseases. It turned out that consuming just two servings of yogurt per week can help protect against some of the most aggressive forms of cancer. Thus, a simple product used at breakfast could be a strong protective agent against intestinal cancer.
Medianews.az, citing Lent.az, reports that regular consumption of yogurt may slow the development of some aggressive forms of cancer. The reason for this is the alteration of the intestinal microbiome: the beneficial bacteria in yogurt improve the natural environment of the intestine and create a protective barrier against disease.
Experts noted that consuming two or more servings of yogurt per week can reduce the risk of a certain aggressive type of colorectal cancer that arises in the right side of the large intestine and usually has a more severe course. This type of cancer is associated with lower survival rates compared to the types that occur on the left side.
