14 schools are being closed at the border with Azerbaijan, villages are being evacuated – Armenians are in a state of panic.

It has been announced that 14 schools will be closed simultaneously in the Tavush province of Armenia.

Aram Manukyan, deputy chairman of the Armenian National Congress Party, stated in a video message broadcast from the village of Çınarı that this decision causes serious concern regarding the future of border regions.

According to him, one of the schools to be closed is an educational institution newly rebuilt recently. Manukyan noted that Çınarı is one of the closest Armenian villages to the Azerbaijani border and is surrounded on three sides by Azerbaijani territories.

I want to ask those who made the closure decision: why do you think such a border village and 8 other villages must be destroyed as a result of your decisions? When there are no students left in the school, the village disappears too. Look, this is a well-renovated normal school. I ask: why are you closing the school? Do you have a plan to destroy the border village? – he said.

It is noted that responsible Armenian authorities have previously announced a large-scale reform in the school system. According to the information, starting from September 1, 2026, the process of merging schools with low student numbers and transforming them into cluster education centers will begin./Musavat.com
