According to the report of the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 150 countries in January-February 2026, with exports exceeding 3.6 billion dollars and imports exceeding 2.5 billion dollars.
Medianews.az reports that the top three trade partners were Italy, Turkey, and China, with Italy leading in exports and China leading in imports.
According to statistics, more than 7.1 percent of exports were directed to CIS countries, more than 66.2 percent to European Union countries, and more than 26.5 percent to other countries; in imports, the share of the CIS was 20.52 percent, the EU's share was 14.46 percent, and other countries’ share was 65.02 percent.
Looking at neighboring countries, products worth 4.2 million dollars were sent to Armenia, with no imports recorded from this country.
Georgia had 158.3 million dollars in exports and 18.2 million dollars in imports; Russia had 157.7 million dollars in exports and 342.2 million dollars in imports; Iran had 2.3 million dollars in exports and 115.2 million dollars in imports; Turkey had 532.9 million dollars in exports and 344.2 million dollars in imports; Kazakhstan had 24.2 million dollars in exports and 41.2 million dollars in imports; Turkmenistan had 3.8 million dollars in exports and 8.1 million dollars in imports.
Nearly 3.1 billion dollars of exports belonged to the oil and gas sector, and 3.9 million dollars to electric energy.
The remaining top three export products are as follows: fruits and vegetables - 144.3 million dollars, plastics and plastic products - 42.2 million dollars, aluminum and aluminum products - 42 million dollars.
The top three imports are officially recorded as: machinery, mechanisms, electrical apparatus, equipment and their parts - 647.1 million dollars; food products - 439 million dollars; transport vehicles and their parts - 319.3 million dollars.
