An attack on "Azerbaijan Railways" has been prevented - EXCLUSIVE

On August 21, a large-scale DDoS-type cyberattack was carried out against "Delta Telekom," one of the main "backbone" operators providing internet traffic to Azerbaijan, resulting in temporary delays in the services of some internet telecommunication operators and providers in our country.

On the same day, a hacker group calling itself "Python Squad" posted on social media that it had carried out cyberattacks on "Azerbaijan Railways."

How accurate is this information? Was "Azerbaijan Railways" subjected to a cyberattack on August 21? If a cyberattack occurred, did it cause problems in the operations of the State Railways?

Medianews.az website inquired about these questions to Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, head of the public relations department of "Azerbaijan Railways" OJSC.

Bakhtiyar Hajiyev said that on August 21, a cyberattack was carried out on the website of "Azerbaijan Railways" OJSC, as well as the "ADY Mobile" mobile application: "As a result, some operations on these platforms, including ticket sales, experienced technical difficulties.

Urgent measures were taken to prevent the cyberattack, and the normal operation of ADY's website and mobile application, as well as all digital resources in general, was ensured."
