"Eurovision 2026": Who has what chance?

According to the betting statistics at bookmaker offices, the Eurovisionworld.com website rates Azerbaijan's representative Jamila Hashimova's chances of winning the Eurovision 2026 international song contest at less than 1 percent.

Medianews.az reports that Germany, Serbia, Albania, Switzerland, San Marino, Belgium, Georgia, Poland, Portugal, Austria, Montenegro, and Estonia are in the same situation.

According to the predictions, Finland leads with a 30 percent chance of victory. This country is represented in the contest by the duet Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen. Violinist Linda Lampenius was born in 1970, singer Pete Parkkonen was born in 1990.

France is shown with an 11 percent chance of winning, Denmark 10, Australia and Greece 8, Israel 5, Sweden and Romania 4, Ukraine and Italy 3, Cyprus and the Czech Republic 2 percent chance.

Bulgaria, Malta, Luxembourg, Moldova, Croatia, Great Britain, Lithuania, Norway, Latvia, and Armenia are considered to have a 1 percent chance of victory.

The contest hosted by Vienna, Austria's capital, involves 35 countries. In the first semifinal (May 12), Moldova, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Georgia, Finland, Montenegro, Estonia, Israel, Belgium, Lithuania, San Marino, Poland, Serbia will compete; and in the second semifinal (May 14), Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Romania, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Armenia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Australia, Ukraine, Albania, Malta, Norway will compete.

From each semifinal, 10 tickets to the final are available. Germany, Austria, Great Britain, France, and Italy will join the contest directly in the final (May 16).

Azerbaijan has participated in Eurovision 17 times. In 2008, Elnur Hüseynov and Samir Cavadzade took 8th place; in 2009, Aysel Teymurzade and Arash 3rd place; in 2010, Safura Alizade 5th place; in 2011, Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov 1st place; in 2012, Sabina Babayeva 4th place; in 2013, Farid Mammadov 2nd place; in 2014, Dilara Kazimova 22nd place; in 2015, Elnur Hüseynov 12th place; in 2016, Samra Rahimli 17th place; in 2017, Diana Hajiyeva 14th place; in 2019, Chingiz Mustafayev 8th place; in 2021, Samira Efendi 20th place; in 2022, Nadir Rustamli 16th place.

In 2018, Aysel Mammadova, in 2023, Tural and Turan Bagmanovs, in 2024, Fakhri Ismayilov and Ilkin Dovlatov, and in 2025, the "Mamaqama" group failed to pass the semifinal.
