The European Union (EU) has expanded restrictions against Russia’s metallurgical and gold mining sectors under its 21st sanctions package.
Medianews.az reports that this information was released by the TASS agency citing a statement from the European Council.
This new package is the most extensive sanctions package of this kind adopted recently. The EU included measures forbidding European companies from operating with two Russian ports and four airports in the package.
Furthermore, restrictions have been applied against 170 organizations and 48 individuals; at the same time, the assets of 94 banks and 33 large financial institutions in Russia have been frozen, and funding for them has been prohibited. Crypto-asset services provided by third-country companies have been completely banned.
