In Lankaran, a 59-year-old man drowned in the sea while trying to fish.
APA reports that the incident occurred in the territory of Ashagi Nuvadi village.
It is reported that Mammad Guliyev, born in 1967, went to the Caspian Sea coast of Lankaran to fish and went into the sea.
As a result of the retreat of the Caspian Sea, a well and a channel formed in that direction. According to information, M. Guliyev, who was actually familiar with those areas, was unaware of the formation of the well and the channel.
At that moment, M. Guliyev fell into the channel and drowned as the seawater carried him away.
It should be noted that Mammad Guliyev lives in Baku city. He returned to the region yesterday to participate in a relative's birthday celebration.
Today, after seeing off those who came with him to Baku city, M. Guliyev went to the sea to fish.
The body retrieved from the sea was handed over to the relevant authorities.
An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
