The US and Iran have reached an agreement - "Axios"

US and Iranian representatives have agreed on a 60-day Memorandum of Understanding for the extension of the ceasefire and the start of negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program.

This was reported by "Axios" citing two US officials.

According to the information, Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision. US officials stated that the President conveyed to the mediators that he needs a few days to make a decision.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be unrestricted and there will be no tolls or pursuit. It is also stated that Iran must clear all mines from the strait within 30 days.

It was noted that the US naval blockade will also be lifted, but this will happen proportionally with the restoration of commercial shipping.

Officials stated that the Memorandum of Understanding will also include Iran's commitment not to acquire nuclear weapons. The first issues to be discussed in the negotiations during the 60-day period will be the disposal of Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles and the country's economic welfare.

The US, in turn, will consider easing sanctions and the release of frozen Iranian assets within the framework of the negotiations.

The Memorandum will also include the development and discussion of a mechanism that will facilitate Iran's access to goods and humanitarian aid. /AZERTAC
