According to the information, the epicenter of the earthquake was approximately 1,248 km southeast of the city of Punta Arenas (Chile), which has a population of about 117,000 people.
The earthquake’s hypocenter was located at a depth of 5 km.
No casualties or damage have been reported. A tsunami warning has not been issued.
