During the audit of the financial activities of the State Statistics Committee for the year 2024, it was revealed that equipment worth millions of manats remained unused in warehouses and the accounting records were not properly maintained.
Medianews.az reports that this information was stated in the "State Audit" bulletin published by the Chamber of Accounts.
Based on audit evidence, equipment valued at a total of 4 million 793 thousand manats was identified in the Committee as not actually put into use but present in the warehouse. Among these, the largest share consists of 11,507 tablets with a total value of 4 million 779 thousand 547 manats. Contrary to the rules, these unused equipment items were recorded under the account "Value of land, buildings, and equipment" instead of "Capitalized expenses for land, buildings, and equipment."
Additionally, although 236 thousand manats worth of "centralized antivirus system software" (1,200 licenses) was purchased and put into use in 2024 for information security, it is noted that these intangible assets were not properly reflected in the accounting records and that distortions were created in the financial statements.
